    Ragboy,

When you find a good picture let me know. I know the z3 is a totally different hull, but what tige has done will be a good starting point for this project.

The z3 hull is so crazy looking. It has a 2nd step in the rear of the boat hull. Pretty cool stuff Tige!!

Hey before you get started on that project give me a call and I will share with you why the Z3 looks like it does not have any chines. We have but a lot of testing into the Z3 and there is a reason why they appear that way. The 24v and 24ve both put out amazing surf wakes, just check out www.wake9.com as most of you have already done. Tony 325-829-8676 cell

That upside down pic is a good pic, better than I have until we get ours. Ours is coming in march. The thing that is so amazing about that new hull is what they did to get it there.

Duffy, when I saw tige's R&D platform, you were the first person I thought of. I could see you setting up a sleeping bag in the thing and calling it home. It was so ugly, yet beautiful at the same time. They tested all hull changes on it first, then tested them "for realsies" and had us out to confirm.

The chines were one of the first things I was interested to see the difference. It seemed to me without chines the boat would be easier to weight, less weight to get that corner down, and probably smoother wake. Couldn't really tell or see the difference but RJ and Dennis definitely said they could "feel" it. Tony can probably share more of that with you if you call him. Too much fun.

I still have tons of snow in my yard so nothing will be done soon. Just starting the long process of designing my new mods for 2012. I also bought a malibu floating wedge to install!!

OK, you've been hinting at this for a while now. It's killing me. I presume you cannot talk freely about it, but I've built what I suspect are similar testing setups to design whitewater kayaking playparks and hull designs so I'm deeply intrigued.

Can you answer a question? Does their test setup run continuously while in use, or is it a setup-and-fire arrangement? (Think normal wind tunnel vs. hypersonic wind tunnel.)

Well this could be because they cause lift. Or ? I am not a marine engineer

Ok Tige says not to remove them (which is scary)!! But to just fill the area in from the chine (they called the delta) to the flat part of the transom. Here is an amazing detailed sketch of the concept! He said they fill it in for about 4 feet or so.

Whoa! This is why I like Tige so much! Look at the customer service on that one! Most mfr's wouldn't help you mod your boat!

I bet they would rather have someone add stuff instead of cut them

You specifically discussed filling in that space, so it's one of the concepts you have already considered. Now you have Tige's input that it is the preferred approach. Sounds like you know what to do!

I have to agree on the Customer Support comments. Absolutely remarkable that a boat manufacturer is willing to help you alter your vessel. I would expect most to hide behind some namby-pamby excuse about liability if they help you mod your hull and an accident occurs. Instead, Tige steps up and helps their customers maximize the fun. What an awesome company!
