    Just ordered my 2012 RZR...?

Sold the malibu last fall, now ordered the RZR.....

Here is what i got on it..
    • 5.7 l
    • Surf ballast
    • Heater
    • Tower of power rev 8
    • Bimini
    • Cover
    • Alpha z
    • Board racks
    • Transom remote
    • Pcm cat
    • Single axle trailer
      Dual batteries
      Windscreen
      Table

    Not sure on the colors.....

What about trailer? My last trailer was a tandem axle boatmate, this one is orderd with single axle.....what are the cons on the single axle?

What's the windscreen and the table?

From what I understand the tandem axle will tow a little better and hold the road much better. I was told that the single axle will want to sway on you at highway speeds.

IMO, the RZR looks kinda small and funny on the single axle. I guess it depends on how much you will be towing it.

    What's the cost difference?

Going to be a great set up. Trailer? Less money to replace tires. Less wear when turning. Probably good enough for that boat. Not as good as a tandem when towing at highway speeds. Just my opinion.

        Congrats on your new order.

As to the trailer, how far are you going to be towing and where abouts do you live?
I personally wanted a tandem axle trailer. For as much towing as I have to do I felt more secure with one. All of the trailers I have towed and seen people tow, the tandem seems to track better and not sway. If you have a blow out there is still some support on the second tire. If you have a flat you drive forward or backwards depending on the tire to lift the trailer and replace the bad tire, you can still use a jack this is just easier.

Here is off of a quick search on the net.

          Single Axle Advantages and Disadvantages
Single axles maneuver more easily and weigh less than tandem axles. Since single axles must carry less weight than a tandem axle, singles make for better fuel economy and less towing wear-and-tear.

          Tandem Axle Advantages and Disadvantages
Tandems have more stability and straighter tows than single axles, which tend to sway without a sway control device. Four tires limit the tandem's turning radius and cost more to replace than single axles.

          Final Tidbits
Tandem axles cost more than singles as they support twice as many tires. When choosing one type over the other, keep in mind that your suspension should be in tip-top shape as it affects your tow ride.

My personal opinion is that tandem axle is the only way to go.

We got a single axle because we only have to tow to ad from the lake once a year, you will be fine if you are very close to or keep your boat at the lake and just tow a few times a year. If you're gunna be driving a few hours to a lake and back, go with the tandem

The tandem axle is 1600 more...not that big of a deal....

I tow mostly 20 minutes then occasionally up to the cabin 3 hours once or twice a summer.

How far will you be towing? If it's long distances, I would go tandem. Even though it's a 20' boat, it still has quite a bit of weight to it. Also, resale with a tandem will be a little better.

X2, a tandem trailer will help resale and give you peace of mind on those 3 hr trips

Go with the tandem if you lose a tire you can limp back on three. Just speaking of experience

Also, single axle trailers tend to bounce around more from my experience. Sorry, we weren't trying to "dogpile" on you about the single axle.

Nice set-up. You will be happy. I suggest a tandem axle just to have the safety and security of the boat in mind while traveling on vacations.
