Ok I have a 2003 22v with the electric taps and I'm thinking it is set up wrong. In the wakeboard position with 7 being the max the plate goes down. Seems wrong to me? Also I just figured out that when the gauge is at either of its limits wakeboard or slalom the plate will continue to move. Thoughts??

Is it the Lenco system, which means it doesnt have any hydraulics, if so it cant move because of water preassure, because it has a gear driven motor.
If it is going the wrong direction from the gauge check the black and white wires going to the motor and make sure somebody didnt reverse them, also make sure that the gauge is wired correctly, and power to the relay box under the dash.
In stock form in that year the relay box is supposed to default to wakeboard mode which is plate all the way up after a 10 minute shut down, a common thing done back then was to wire the relay box hot all the time so as to keep plate where last set, this in turn also through off the gauge because you had to go and put the gauge through a full sweep to get it back in sink with the plate.
Hope that helps.

The trouble with taps
My 04 did the same thing, adjusted while moving. Turns out (by reading early post) the TAPS wires in the throttle shorting out. When you move the throttle back and forth I could replicate it. I used new wires and snaked them into the throttle assembly and taps switch then spliced into good wire farther away from the control. No problems for three years.
