22Ve vs 22i

So I am contemplating switching from my 2005 22i to a new 22Ve. Has anyone out there done this? Is there anything I am going to regret about the 22i (besides the $$ increase)? When we bought the boat, we skied, now we/I only surf, my wife skies a couple times a year and my boys wakeboard. We can do all of that with the 22i. I know the surf wake is going to be A LOT better with the 22Ve.We are looking for 1.More storage 2. More room for people and 3.Better surf wake. One question for owners of 22Ve's; can you fit 8 people in the cockpit area comfortably? Also,I have FAE, they are saying I do not need it with the new Ve?
Any general comments are welcome. BTW, I am struggling with getting rid of the 22i, I REALLY like it and it is in super nice shape.

As a 22Ve owner we have room for 11 plus in the cockpit. Granted some of those have been kids. I want to say that we have had 8 adults in there without any issue. There again that is average size adults.

I have an FAE but it is the older model.

We love the surf wake and the wakeboarding wake.

The Ve will give you everything you mentioned: More storage, more seating and better surf. It even has a decent ski wake for a rec skier.

FAE: If it where me, I would want the FAE as the make a great muffler. Tough call though.

It was not uncommon for us to have a boat load for the day. The Ve, IMO, will seat 11 close friends With my folks, my two sisters and their families, there's 13!

I had a 97pre 2150 before I bought my 22ve. I love my ve! The ski wake I find is even better and softer and the storage room is amazing. Also the surf wave is good, in a few weeks I'm going to be ordering a surf sac from chp. I would definetly recommend the ve!

22 Ve is a good choice. we have 07 model and very pleased; has lots of room so we can have 8-10 teens/grownups in back and 2-4 kiddos up front with good comfort. Throws a real good surf wake too. FAE is your call - we have that also and its great for CO safety and NOISE reduction. Have not been on new models so can't say. My wife loves it since the boat is roomy yet smaller to for better drivability.
