    Ballast Upgrade in R20, Help!

So I primarily want to surf and I ride regular. How much weight do I need to upgrade to in the rear left side and the front of the boat. Also where is the best place to purchase the sacks?

Are these guys any good ?

Some have bought from them and some have bought from Chpthril. I know that Chpthril has a custom sac that many have used. I do not know if Wakemakers has the same ones but they all may be able to get custom sacs of their own.

What ballast do you boat currently have? Knowing this will help determine what you need above that. IIRC, the R20 comes with either no ballast or 900lbs.

I've bought all my stuff from chpthril. I'm 100% satisfied with all my purchases. Mike super knowledgeable and super helpful. He doesn't have the fancy website but he can get you exactly what you need. Just call.

I also hear the same basic thing about Jason at Wakemakers.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Thanks for the plug Nick, im happy to have helped you.

          Patryk,

Only took me 30 minutes to find the PDF on Tiges site. The R20 shows to come with the 900 base level std and the 1600 as an option. Whichever you have, I would suggest going with a custom "L" shaped sac for the starboard rear corner. In that boat, it will give you about 900+ pounds on top of the base 250lb in-floor tank. Knowing which ballast option you have will determine which custom sac you go with. We have one that is a plug-n-play that replaces the 350# OEM surf sac and one that is designed for a plumbed in system.

Note to Tige, please make it easier to find the brochure

So I have the base balast setup. 250 on each side, and 400 up front. The sacs in the rear are hidden in the side pannels, but fold out when you go to fill them. So what would be the best to add a piggy back sac, or replace the 25o sac?

Ok, if youve got folding sacs in the rear lockers, then you have the 1600 Lb Surf option. Here is the breakdown: Bow = 400 lb "U" shaped sac. In each rear locker you have a 250lb hard tank under the floor and then a 350 lb sac that folds out from the wall. This gives you up to 600 lbs in the rear on the surf side.

Its as easy as taking 15 minutes to swap out that 350lb surf sac and replace it with 900lb custom sac.
