    Oil Change...

How many quarts should it take? I have a 2001 22I. With a 350Mercruiser I believe. What is the weight of the oil? Same as our Tahoe? Thanks.

I don't have a mecruiser but there are lots of threads in the maintenance section with how-to and what oil weight you should use. Search for oil and you'll see lots of threads.

Search for the oil change threads and look for posts by tigeowner.com user TRD. Hes put together an xls with just about every bit of service info on the Merc.

If it is the 350 mag/mpi, will say on the engine cover...

Mine takes 4.5 quarts with an oil and filter change.

I run mercruiser 25/40 synthetic blend.

Definitely do not run "what is in the tahoe" as the marine oil is blended with special inhibitors that auto oil is not.
