We went out last weekend, my son got in for his first set, set the cruise control and threw the throttle down to pull him out and ..... everything died !
Couldnt restart, then noticed the readout saying ECU NO DATA AFTER25 seconds.
Anyway, just been nack up today after reading some previous posts on the subject regarding bad connections, fuses etc, put a meter across the ones I could see and everything close to the battery was fine, I couldn’t see where the wire went (the small red one from the battery switch).
Had virtually given up and decided to call the dealer here, as would have to haul the boat 160 miles to him to sort it out, the company is RJ Performance Marine, in Abu Dhabi and the guys name is Rudi du Plesis, he is a star ! Told me to check under the starter motor area and I should find a coiled up extra length of wire, there will be a connector near there and its likely corroded, which it was !!
20 minutes later all sorted !!
Just wanted to post to say a big thanks for everyone on this forum who posts great advice and technical help as it pointed me in the right direction and a big thanks to Rudi at RJ Performance Marine for the specific bit of advice. Hope your dealers are as helpful
