Alpha Tower Spring Assist

Just to broden my knowlege of my boat: in the event the Alpha Z tower spring assist "cable" needs adjustment, where would you gain entry to the cable from inside the boat hull/deck? It appears the side upholstery pannel (below the tower mount) would first get removed to gain entry to the cable assembly. However, after looking under the seat and seeing the upholstery bolts, it appears to be fiberglass molded from the seat on up the side pannel. So even if you removed the upholstery pannel, would you necessarily see/have access to the cable assembly? Surely these is a way to gain access to the cable, pullys and tower mount bolts if needed. Can the tower cable be adjusted any to put any more tension on the cable?

I have heard of guys adding stiffer springs to give more "help" with the tower. I don't know how or where they accessed them.

There is no adjustment on the cable or springs, I have seen a one spring or two spring configuration.
There is a large aluminum bar under the deck with a pulley and cable hooked to the springs, the springs are hooked to a round rod welded to the bar, cable will either have one spring or two hooked to it, I dont know what determines the ammount of springs.
A small person can slide from the rear compartement and see the springs and bar , but the only access is by removeing all side interior parts.

Thanks...I would think there would be some tension bar to adjust the pressure. This spring must not loosen up/weaken over time?

I have seen some videos where the tower has significant tension where the tower has to be "pushed down" to lay flat. My tower has like +-25 lbs of weight to hold/lift up from the back seat.

The interrior upholstery pannel looks like a pain to remove and may not even give access to the cable assembly once removed. It appears to have molded fiberglass that may be in the way.

I have to push my tower down to get it all the way down, but I only have the bimini and board racks on my tower, no speakers.

I do have 1 pair of wet sounds with no bemini on my tower. Interesting how the tension is on diferent boats. Ayone else have to push their Alpha Z tower down?

I have to drop the Alpha Z tower each time it goes into covered storage. I have a pair of WS Pro60s and a pair of WS MB8s (~Pro80).

Just easing the tower down does not result in the tower settling all the way to its lowest position. To do so, I would need to push the tower down. I have made no changes or adjustments to the springs.
