Tige boat VIN

Let's suppose I get the VIN number of a boat I'm looking at.....what can it really tell me?

Manufacturer, and year of manufacture.

Lots os stuff, if you know how to decode it. The manufacturer is the first character and the year is the last two.

I could be wrong and I don't know how freely Tige gives out the information. But it should be able to give you all the build information of the boat.
