Definitely go aluminum. We did straight away without hesitation.
Went with a Rolls Axle Trailer (custom made).

Anywho, I really love, love, love the look. Was thinking about re-wrapping our Tige in Chrome from Alsa Corp this summer.

Are the Rolls Axle trailers an I Beam construction or do they do a C Channel Frame? I really don't like the look of the I Beam but I've only found 2 other manufacturers, Pacific and Myco. Pacific needs the boat to build the trailer and won't ship it and Myco doesn't do trailers under 30'.

Congratulations TJ on your new Tige RZR! It has been a pleasure working with you and I am glad that in the end we were able to put together exactly what you wanted. Thanks again for coming up yesterday and letting me demo you on the RZR directly after your X2 demo. I'm glad you and your friend were able to see the superior drive, handling, wakes and overall interior comfort the Tige RZR has over the Mastercraft X2. I will be sure to send some pictures to you of your boat as it is going through the build process at the factory. Let me know if Texas Tige can help with anything else.

I think the interior in all Mercury with black stitching and black pipig is what will really set it apart. I can't wait to see the interior finished.

Will that be very hot in the Texas sun? I think that even if you say it is not that hot, I would not buy it because I think it would get hot anyway. I worry it might kill your resale or at least limit it to people who already know and trust you a great deal, or locals who can feel the vinyl in action. I am sure it is going to look neat, but the sunpad area might be a giant frying pan.

Or do you mean that it will be mostly white with the gray accents like on the RZ2 in your initial pics.

houstonshark, welcome, I have a similar story with Steve and Brandon, the only thing I can add is after you take delivery they will stand behind their product and get back on the water ASAP and not forget you after the sale. I bought my 09' Z1 brand new from them on Octber of 09' and never looked back, yep I also had over a year of shopping contemplation and research, my wife was tired of boat shows, dealers, shopping etc. by the time we made our purchase.

What water way is your home place? We live in Clear Lake and ride lsj and yes it has been very salty. If I had to do it over again I would opt for the aluminum trailer. Only thing is they don't look as nice as the painted steel. My boatmate trailer will be on it's third season and still looks pretty good but I am overly anal about taking care of boat and trailer.

I am not sure how much you are into wakeboarding, you should also check out GCWA.com, a local wakeboarding club, we have a few events each year.

Yep, ALL Mercury. Pretty much anything in the Texas sun will be hot if it sits out for long though I do understand this color will be hotter than normal. The Mercury is really not much darker than the standard grey trim used on the upper seat backs and to trim the boxing on the lower seat cushions. The only difference is there will be no white.

I think the textured Mercury material will wear much better than the white and will keep its original color for much longer. If we end up having problems with it being too hot, my dad is an upholsterer and we can replace the upper and lower seat cushion inserts with something lighter. Lots of boats I saw at the boat show this year had darker and darker interiors, including lots of black and really dark grey.

We'll see. I'm pretty excited and think it will be quite nice.

I did some research today on aluminum trailers and decided I just couldn't live with an I Beam version unless that's absolutely all I could get. I found a couple high end builders (Pacific and Myco) who build custom C-Channel framed, aluminum trailers. Pacific won't deliver and Myco will only do 30' boats and above because of cost.

I called McClain Trailers here in Houston and talked to them about it. They called manufacturing and said they could actually do a C-Channel frame Aluminum trailer and custom build it for my RZR! This style looks much more like a traditional steel trailer and since everything is welded as opposed to being bolted on, they can build it so that the boat sits much lower on the trailer than an I Beam version. This is key for getting it to fit in the garage.

Apparently since everything just gets bolted together with the I Beam version, the boat just sits where it sits, which is higher than a steel trailer.

We'll see next week. They will need my boat for 2 weeks in order to build the trailer. In order to get my boat here from the factory though I'll have to borrow a trailer. Anyone in the Houston area have a RZR trailer they would want to lend me to go pick it up? Better yet, anyone have a RZR to lend McClain so that I could get the trailer built prior to the boat being done in exchange for a case of your favorite beer?
