The trailer towed pretty well. I had a 2" drop hitch receiver which I flipped over since it needed to be higher. I stopped and bought the next size up to raise it higher but it still was not high enough. I think I need to raise it another 3-4" and it will be fine.

The way it is sitting there is too much tongue weight (although my truck didn't seem to mind) which caused the trailer to bounce a little as we hit bumps or dips in the road and the aluminum flexed. It tracked well and didn't want to sway at all, just bounce a little.

The axles are a bit far back because they had to cut the trailer down some in order to get it to fit into my garage. They could really only cut down the rear of it so that's where they took 10" off.

I was really surprised at how well the Ecoboost towed the boat. It only downshifted once or twice with the cruise set at 65mph going over the overpasses on the trip down to the river. I reset the MPG on the way up to Conroe and over 70 or so miles my truck got 19mpg without the boat. We got 12mpg on the roughly 100 miles from Conroe to Brazoria. I guess that's not too bad. Maybe relieving a little tongue weight will help some.

Sweet, we just bought a Ecoboost in September and have yet to tow the boat any distance with it. I forgot that you customized that trailer.
I use an adjustable hitch like the one in the picture that I switch between my truck and the wifes. I used to have to flip it over for her Expedition, It works very well

Nice looking RZR!!! My wife and I were at Texas Tige in the black Denali as you were pulling around back to pick it up. We were wanting to see you pull away with that new beautiful boat...so we talked to Brandon for a bit and then we had to head off...my little girl was getting impatient around all of those boats!! I like the clean all white approach!!

You should've pulled around to the back and checked it out before we put the cover on it! I do remember seeing you pull up as we were pulling around to load it up.

Are you looking for a new boat?

I wish I would have pulled around too...but I didnt want to impose! We've been looking for the past few years, but timing just hasnt worked out yet...a long summer (May to Sept) in Europe working on a project followed by 2 kids (one is 26 months and the other is 3 months). We are hoping to be in a boat next summer. Until then, I keep in touch w/ Brandon and Steve and stop by after lunches up on the lake.

I dropped the boat off at McClain Trailers last Friday to have the guide posts installed and the boat adjusted on the trailer. When I dropped it off we measured the tongue weight and it was 850lbs. Needless to say, it was a bit heavy on our vehicles and was putting too much stress on the swing away tongue.

I stopped by today to check it out and they were nearly done. They moved the axles forward about 12". This should make a big difference. They expected it to be around 450lbs when done. It should be ready tomorrow around lunch time. I'm sure it will tow a lot better!

Wow! 850 is high! Should be about 10% of the total weight.

It looked like they were set pretty far back, glad to hear they are working with you.
