    What to watch for?

Looking at a closed cooling rz4, it's an 07 with 600+ hours and looks to be in good shape. It's in Minnesota and I'mnot sure about how much salt water this boat may have been in. Anything that may be a big concern or may need to be replaced? Any input would be awesome. Thanks

That's the one. From all the other ones I've looked at they are at least ten grand more. I tried to call on it today and they are out until Monday. When I emailed a couple of days ago they said its in good shape for the hours and nothing major wrong with it. Im worried because im in Texas and if I buy it I have to have it shipped. That's the only look I get at it. Do you guys think I should go for it or not?

If you buy it, drive up there and pull hit back home. It will be the best and most memorable time of your life. I worked a deal out the the previous owner of my boat to meet me half way (kinda-sorta). These things are all negotiable.

Does that mean you wouldn't physically go to inspect it yourself?

If you're going to drop $40K+ on something, the few hundred dollars to fly there and inspect it thoroughly could be the best insurance you ever bought. I've bought two boats "long distance" so far in my life, and in both cases considered the money for an airline trip to be insurance against buyer's remorse later. I've never regretted "wasting" that money.

                  Just a thought....

When I was seriously looking for a boat I found an X45 that I really liked. It was in Washington and I am in Oklahoma. I had a marine surveyor go look at it. He looked at it with a fine tooth comb and even took video for me. That was a big help. Very good video of everything. It revealed things that pics just could not. It was money well spent. Some issues were discovered but all in all it was not too bad. I even looked into bids fro U Ship It for someone to tow it here. They were reasonable too.

Putting down 40 grand spending some to get someone to look it over is money well spent. Even flying up to look at it pesonaly is well worth it. You really do not want a heavy case of buyers remores.

There may even be someone here on the group who knows the boat and it,s history. when all was down I passed on the X45 after researching what I wanted to use the boat for. I lucked into a 2007 24ve locally and it was well taken care of and was bought right.

Good luck and welcome to Tige'.

That thing has been for sale forever. While I'll be the first to say 600hrs is no big deal, 600hrs on an '07 that's been for sale for at least a year seems odd. If nothing else, I would have it inspected. I would also go see for myself once the inspection came back OK. I'm anal like that though. Don't assume the pics are doing it any sort of justice. Almost any boat looks way better in pictures.

                        Does it have a trailer?
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

                          I agree...

The X45 looked great in the picx that were taken. How ever when I got the video I could see the dirt and wear on the carpets and vinyl. There was a lot more wear than was represented and the hull had more blimeshes than the pics showed. If you really like the boat go take a look. Money well spent.

Yeah its been for sale for 15 months. Makes you wonder. Too good to be true. Im might just stay with my first pick of a nice 22v I found much closer and within driving distance. Thanks for the thoughts guys.

If you are interested in a 22V we have one for sale here at Texas Tige in Conroe, TX. This boat is super clean and only has 50 original hours. A perfect example of someone who bought a boat and just did not use it as much as they had planned. We have done all the service on this boat over the years and currently have it here at the dealership to show. Give me a call or shoot me an email if you are interested.

                              Thanks,
