Year diff? 2100V

I saw on the model spec on the top of the page that the 2002 21V is a heavier boat than a 2001. What are the differences between the two? Is the 2002 a better boat? Thanks Ryan

I think '02 might have been the year they went to an all composite construction.

My 2002 still had the wood stringers, but I don't recall about the seat bases and such. I know the hull was identical in shape...so I am not sure about why there might be a difference in weight.

The 2001 tower is famous for breaking. It has black pads all over it and is usually white. It has lasted for a few people, but I would budget in a replacement tower if it has the original. Do a search for 'Metcrap'and some pics will come up.

The 2002 seemed to have a wide variety of towers, and a few got the breaking tower too. Mine had a pretty nice tower, not sure who made it.

The '02 is also listed as having a 102" beam, whereas the '01 is listed at 100". Not sure if that accounts for 600# more or not but, that would seem like a hull change. Is it possible the new V series was introduced mid year?

Thanks for the input guys, the tower on this 02 is pretty upright and the front bars are straight with not much of an angle and there is a black pad near the base of the front legs about a foot long. Would that be the bad tower you speak of? Thanks for the input guys!!!

This the biggest I can get the pic for the boat I am looking at. The tower looks similar but is a different tower than what I am seeing under "metcrap"

That tower is ok. It is the same as the one I had on my 02. I always thought the hulls were the same in 01-02..looks like I need edumacation.
