I bought some teak wood oil, fine sand paper, a paint brush, and some towels. I plan on sanding the platform down to smooth surface, then brush on some teak oil, let it sit and then add another coat of teak oil. Is that correct? Better ideas? Thanks

I don't think you would need the superstrip unless the teak has had an actual finish placed on it. If it has only been oiled, then it will be fine without.
But many of us use the teak oil finish that you can get at Lowe's and really like it. Mine is sitting in the garage, and has not been used yet, but there are some great pics of teak platforms in another thread. If you use the stuff at Lowe's, then you would need the finish remover.Be excellent to one another.
