    Spare key required

Hi Friends, Dave from downunder here again. Getting myself all set to take off with the family for Christmas break on the river and cant seem to find the spare ignition key.

Any ideas on where to obtain one from in the States, as none of the local locksmiths seem to be able to help. I have the key number.

I think I would call Tige direct.

Better off replacing the ignition/starter switch. I lost both sets of keys in my old boat, replaced the ignition and found the keys a few years later.

I would agree with Ewok. Much quicker and easier to buy replacement ignition switch which I did last season. Be sure to look and see how many "posts" your switch has and buy a replacement switch with the same quantitY (mine I think was 5). Then simply put wires on posts in same way as on original. Very easy to do and cost me $30. Good luck!

Agreed, new switch. 100 points to Ewok. ESW gets a 50 point assist.

I have used a key from a moomba and a key from a four winns to start my boat when i have forgotten it
i reckon a screw driver would do it as well !

Thanks folks, all good comments and it sounds like buying a new ignition may be the way to go. I'll probably just buy one and keep it on hand for the unlikely, yet no doubt uncanny and unexpected timing of losing our main key.

              I really apprecaite the feedback.

First thing I did after I got my boat was to take the key (1 given by the old owner) to a lock shop and have duplicates made. Bought 4 extra, keep one on the tow vehicle, and the others at the house, all with floaty keychains. Key copies were like $2 each.
