    Alpha Z Swivel Board Racks

After a few years with Tige selling the Alpha Z tower, is anyone experiencing frustration why the board racks do NOT lock when stowed to the inside of the boat?
Not sure why there is NO LOCK when stowed inboard. When trying to get your boards off the rack when stowed inboard and under bungee pressure, the racks can move and hit you in the face trying to relieve the pressure of the bungee from the underside.

Special note: Do not let the bungee slip out of your hand or you will get a black eye from the bungee ball flying from under the board.

I wish I could fabricate a lock assembly to pin the rack from moving.
    Anyone having the same issue?

When I was shipped a set of 07 swivel racks for my 06, I discovered that the newer designed didnt have a means to lock when swiveled in. I disassembled them, took them to a machine shop. I had them cut a scallop 180* from the one that the pin dropped into when locked in the out position. Now, I havent taken apart a set of the new Alpha-Z racks, but its possible that a similar mod could be done. Good luck.

I don't like the single bungee strap, i'd rather have two (dual) bungee straps for each board so the bottom board doesn't slide out when removing the top board.

Does anyone know who makes our current board racks for the alpha Z tower? I guess I could call Tige. I would like to know if there are adjustments to the swivel tension assembly? When I swivel my rack "inboard" to drop the tower down for garage storage, my racks like to drop down with gravity and hit the gelcoat. So I have to bungee cord the racks to the tower and fork to keep tension on the fork to avoid it striking the boat gelcoat.
This is not acceptable with my standards and poorly designed in my opinion.

Anyone else have this problem with their racks moving either when lowering the tower or simply when trying to remove equipment from inside the boat with the racks not locking when swiveled inboard?
        Thanks!

Sounds like a possible solution. You have any pictures of how you are now able to pin/lock the rack?

The rack was originally milled with only a single slot for the locking pin to drop into when in the outer position. I had the machine shop cut another for the pin to drop into when swiveled in.

Looks like you have a different style rack and lock assemblies.
