Pretty sweet, huh? I got in it and moved around and thought it wasn't that much bigger than my RZ2 so then I went and sat in the RZ2 and felt the difference. It's deceiving because you sit so far down in it.
I call BS on the whole theory that bigger engines are going to burn less or equal fuel. That idea seems to usually be touted by sales people who make money selling more expensive boats.
Well just like in the trucking industry a motor with a bigger displacement is going to have more torque. More torque means moving move mass or the same mass easier. There is no possibility that this isn't the case. So if I am running 4,000lbs of ballast with my 5.7L it will be working a lot harder then my 6.0L running 4,000lbs. The more RPM the worse the economy. Bottom line is the 5.7L with weight is going to hit higher RPM's no matter what.
No to mention the internal stress/wear and tear your applying to the 5.7L will be more then the 6.0L as well. Will it be enough to notice down the road....I dont know not many owners own there boat long enough to see. My Hope this helps.
Any opinions on the clamp down board racks? Is this standard on the Z3?
Do they lock when stowed inboard? I can not find any information on the Tige web site if these fit the STD Alpha Z tower along with cost.

They are not standard on the Z3, and they are very pricey. I am on the fence on whether or not to get them, but having a single lever to pull to get to my boards instead of the bungees is really nice! Also, Tony at Forte's told me that the clamps will automatically adjust the tension for a wake board in the bottom and a surf board in the top. This way you don't dimple your surf board with too much pressure from the clamp.
I don't know if they lock when they are pulled in. If I understand you question, yes the new clamp style board racks fit the Alpha Z tower.
