    22ve or z1

I've been seriously shopping for a 22ve for a few months now and have thought that it was about the right boat based on the specs that I've seen and a couple of 22v's of acquaintances that I've been in. Recently, there have been a few great looking deals on z1's that have popped up in the search.

Does anyone have more detailed specs. on the comparative sizes of these 2 boats? The Tige site has only bare-bones numbers to compare. Any other direct comparisons or opinions between them would be helpful as well such as wakeboard and surfing wakes etc. I just can't find an actual z1 to physically check out without a long trip.

    thanks.

If surfing is big on your list, you may want to stick with the 22Ve.

There are lots of us that have 22ve's. If you have specific 22ve questions fire away. Both are great boats in fact when I purchased mine I was going in to buy the Z1 and obviously went with the 22ve for the extra space, transom walk-through and a few other features.

I own a 22v and have been in a few 22ve's. This summer I got to ride behind a z1. I loved the z1 before I was in it and the wake was amazing. I loved riding behind the boat but I would never buy one, they are just way to small, especially if you are considering a 22ve.

You'll be extremely happy with the 22ve, I'd suggest that.

I echo what the others have said. How much room do you need? Do you plan to put it in a smaller garage? If you need more room in the boat and fitting it into a smaller garage is not an issue I would go with the 22ve. Ours has been great.

You could PM Iwndr and ask him about his Z1, he loves it. He might also be able to give you a better perspective of having a Z1 and what you might miss out on.

What do you plan to do mostly behind the boat.On my 2007 22VE I have wakeboarded, slalom skied, surfed and ridden the air foil.I have heard nothing but good reviews on the Z1 also.I personally haven't ridden in one.The Z1's i've seen are narrower and about a foot shorter, but only you can decide if it's too small.Good Luck.
I do all my own stunt work. hey ya'll watch dis.

Where are you at and How big a crew do you have? the Zee was the right choice for me because of Crew size and the size of my garage and has a more than adequate Wake for surfing but the Ve will definitely give you a larger and longer wake with the right ballast system. You will get more answers when you can tell us your wants and needs

Wouldn't rocky mountain oysters be more appropriate?

Just to add to my post above, depending on how tall you are you might be concerned about the height of the tower. I'm 5'10 and I can see over the tower when i'm standing in the floor of the boat. The z1 that is.

Wow. Thanks for all of the great comments. It looks like the z1 may be out of my size range based on what I'm hearing here. I have no limitations on how big I can go except for the issue of taking so many with me that I don't get a ride myself. I saw a 24ve over the holiday and I pretty sure that it is much larger than I would want.

                              Thanks again.
