    Leaking RAMS for TAPS

I installed both new RAMS, everything seems to be working. The only problem is the RAMS are leaking ATF fluid from the cylinder.

Is this normal? Will it go away?

Bennett Trim Tabs in FL built these for me to specs.

    Any thoughts?

I wouldn't think that is normal. You don't want oil in the water. I'm not sure what year boat you have, but we just took one apart a couple of weeks ago and you don't want air in that system at all. W/ the boat in the water under load it doesn't look the taps plate would work if it got air in the system.

    Is everything tight? Screws, top?

      Hey TRD

Yes, everything is tight and working fine. Taps goes up and down as normal, the gauge is showing the correct location etc....

I spoke to the guy at Bennett, he is sending me 2 new pistons to insert into the housing portion attached to the boat. Hopefully this will solve the leaking problem.

          Great, good luck.
by the way what is the p/n of the Ram for the taps you got from Bennett. I will add it to my spreadsheet.

            Part #'s

            From Bennett Invoice:

            1 - B000A - Small ACT ASSY (SA4027STP)
            1 - B0000SCS - Small actuator w/coil STBD (SA4027STP)

            TIGE # - A1525-2002-238 1 3/8 stroke

This took some digging, I had to call TIGE in TX and their parts guy provided me with the above, in which I provided to Bennett. They made these to spec but unfortunately they are leaking from the cylinder. I called back and they were very helpful, as I mentioned before they are sending out new pistons free of charge. I was happy to know I didn’t have to remove the housing from the back of the boat again. Everything is tightened up with silicone.
