Pull out heater vent locations?

Can anybody tell me or show me some pics of where your pull out heater vents are located in your boat? I'm looking to put some in and I don't have alot of space options with what I'm going to do with my custom ballast and all the space it will take up. Right now I'm planning on putting it in the passengers compartment and putting the vents in the walk way as the cooler fills up the space in the seating area.

The only pull out that I have is in the walk way. I am not home till Saturday but can get you pictures then.

Yeah I know I can get some in the walk way but I'm curious where people have them in the back seating area and how they got them there.

I placed 2 pull outs on the helm side of the walkthrough, which is typical. The 3rd pull out I placed behind the drivers seat and routed the hose behind the throttle panel. Pretty easy to do once you remove the bottom panel screws to allow enough room to pull the hose through. Just be cautious not damage any wiring...

Mjsti, you obviously have some pretty long hose going on there (that is what she said, I know).

Do you find a loss of heat by having it routed that far away from the heat source, or does it still work fine?

I have a 3 vent heater as a winter project, and hope to put one in the walkway, one pointing to the driver's legs and another in the back, but I have to go even further back than you because I have a cooler in that spot. I am just worried that with 12 feet of hose, I might lose most of the heat I am hoping to gain.

ANYway, I have the 4 outlet heater, 4th being under the helm, and it didn't have any issues supplying heat to all 4 outlets while the engine was running higher RPM's. At idle, obviously, the air wasn't as warm. A inline pump may help with this, however. BTW, I had purchased extra hose for the rear vent, but didn't need it as the hose supplied by HeaterCraft was sufficient.

Agreed, it was a fan favorite in my boat....all wrapped up in their towels with a heater vent.

On a side note, the plexiglass bow walk-through filler (purchased from chpthril) worked VERY well keeping the cold wind out. Highly recommended if they're still available.

thanks for the info and pics guys. lwndr is that second pic where you are holding the vent tube the amount of what would be sticking out into the area where the heater is? Is that tube asssmbly about 10" long? I'm curious because I may have to mount all 3 in a triangle set up in the passenger side storage under the glove box.

Yes, the assembly is about 10-12" long, and the pull out hose is about 6' long

my mother in law loves the heater more than her grandkids on night boat rides. And the heater AND the plexiglass divider from CHPTHRL is the bomb on cool/cold evenings.

One other issue that might be something to consider is the placement of the heater.

Generally the heater has been placed under the driver's helm, but there is no reason whatsoever that has to be the case.

In fact, I am putting mine under the passenger seat. You could put it in the storage under the glove box as well. It makes putting the hot tubes (there will be 3 of them) where they are accessible to the passengers much more easily. I found that as the driver, the helm provides some protection from the wind and I am warmer than the passengers anyway. And if I do need a heater tube, I can just pull it across the walkway, just like the passengers usually have to do in most factory installs.

In a 24V, I think tearing out the useless cooler under the passenger seat would be an excellent place to put a heater unit.

BTW, the hot tubes are $37 at skidim. They are $48 at most other places. I saw a few of the older models running around out there and they are really prone to breaking. The new style is much better.
