    Engine temp on MP340

I have a MP340 hp engine and my temp runs around 140 curious what other MP owners temps are operating at. I've been told fuel infected engines run cleaner and more efficent at around 190 and ,for obvious reasons, my heater doesn't get very warm when the engine temp is 140

I have an MP335 and mine normally runs at 170 (although last time out it ran closer to 130.)

170 is about where it needs to be.

The $64,000 question then is why are they running cool? An open thermostat? Something else?

Mine only gets to 170 when the water temp is in the 80's. Most of the time it's in the 150's.

Mine is almost always in the 170s. I flushed everything, changed the thermostat. Still couldn't get it lower. I decided it was fine. I hope that was correct

I've got the Marine Power 5.7L in my 2007 RZ2, and I've almost never seen it go over 150DegF. And that is all in Lake Havasu where the water can be 86DegF. Everything seems to run perfect and the fuel economy is fine. I'm surprised that others are seeing higher temps.

They normally run 144 to 155 in that configuration, with heat exchanger they hit about 160 to 180.

Weird I wonder what is going on with my boat. My lake is pretty cold as well.
