Fatal crash at Pudding Stone Lake

Not sure if you have herd, but this past weekend we had a really bad crash at my local lake.
Three died and four got hurt. They still don’t know what caused it

That stinks for all. always gotta be aware on what is going on around you on the lake and never assume everyone sees you.

Brutal. I witnessed a crash this summer involving a boat and Seadoo as well.

I don't want to point fingers but in my experience it's usually the Seadoo that causes the problems. They're like little wasps hitting your wake while you've got a rider.

IMHO a Seadoo is for hitting rails, pulling a skater or point A-->B transportation.

Jetskis have to have more of a motorcycle attitude on the lake. Right of way only means something if you survive to tell about it. They may have had the right of way, but they are still dead. The article says the boat hit the jetski...either way, they were too close to each other to adjust to one or the other turning quickly. My money is probably the jetski approached the boat, but that is a huge stereotype based on my experience.

          Very sad, indeed.
          Be excellent to one another.

I have jetskis, and I understand the fun of jumping waves and wakes with them, but I'm still angry about how darned CLOSE some of those machines get to the back of our boat. It's just plain dangerous when you have a boarder back there... if they drop away they are all alone and hard to see until the towboat gets back to them, and it would be very easy for one of those "chase skis" to be on top of them before they know it.

That said, for some reason this season I actually had more trouble with BOATS following directly behind us, far too close. I can remember one instance in particular - these people came right up on our stern, pointing and yelling their excitement about how my 9YO son was surfing behind our boat. Never mind that if my son lost the wave their boat would run him down. Heck, they would have run him down even if we stopped intentionally. There wasn't an obvious way to safely disarm the situation with them so close to the stern. I started waving our orange flag in a sort of directional manner, to the side, and the light bulb finally went on and they pulled around us, smiling and waving like everything was just great. If I knew a foreign language I could have shared my thoughts more completely with them as they passed....
