    Cooler removal

So, one of my winter projects (I hope) will be removing the cooler. I swear I saw someone talk about this in a previous post but I did a search and came up with nothing? Maybe searching wrong? Anyway, so has anyone gone ahead and removed their factory cooler to open up all that extra storage under the seat? As mentioned in a post under "ballast" I want to add more ballast and am looking for every square inch of additional storage that I can find. The factory cooler has not been succesful for me in keeping drinks cold and is way to small, so I always use my own. Any pics of how you finished off the edges?

      Dave S,

I used a sander to smooth everything with a low grit count. Then followed that with a high grit count using my hands. Sanding was messy. The whole interior of the boat was full of fiberglass/plastic dust.
Since I took the cooler out I have noticed that the wave gets real big quick! The swim platform is 10 to 12 inches below the water on the dark side now.

This off season I am going to plumb my bow sac to help lenghten the pocket. I can currently ride about 10 to 15 feet off the back of the boat with just my wife and two boys (5&7 yrs old) in the boat. But I have the speed set for 12.5 to 13 mph.

Good luck - It is not hard to remove the cooler just messy.
