My neighbor used U-ship and contracted a guy with a big diesel truck to drive his Sundowner 280 across the country. In 2007 I had my boat shipped from PA to TX for 2500 bucks. Back then I had a friend who was an independent trucker and I posted on his account the load and destination. If anyone is traveling empty or with enough room they check the site to see if there is something along the way. It takes some looking on Google but there are lots of options.

I used U-ship as well. Went pretty well, had my boat shipped from FL to TX...only issue was a tire blew out on the trailer (after I asked the seller to check them), so the guy had to buy me a tire. Otherwise it showed up in 1 piece for a reasonable price. He even had GPS tracking so I knew where he was at during the drive.

Contact Hunter Transport and speak with the owner Mark Moore. 336-880-4199 and tell him Jason told you about them. He hauls all kinds of automobiles and boats and trailers, problem is he isn't a big outfit so you will have to catch him when hes in your region. Super nice company, great rates, and dependable.

For reference, I spent $2800 to ship my new 24Ve from Florida to Washington State - about as far as you can go within the contiguous 48. That was on a flatbed trailer so the boat's own trailer didn't get all those miles on it. I spent a few hundred dollars more to have the boat completely shrink wrapped to keep it protected.
