As I pulled up to the boat launch yesterday I noticed this truck was in a little deep, it was in up to the top of the cab actually. I have seen videos on YouTube but I've never seen it in person. He went in about 1 minute before I got there. The driver of the truck said he launched his boat like normal but his wife was having trouble holding it or tying it to the dock. As he was pulling the trailer out he got 1/2 way up the ramp, stopped, put the truck in park and it slowly started to slip back into the lake. He was driving it and trying to get it up the ramp but it wasn't 4wd. The ramp was very slick, almost like ice. Another gentlemen said this moss started growing last week and the ramp is now very slick, and steep.
We needed a little help getting the boat up the ramp as well with our 4runner. Normally my wife drives the truck and I ride in the boat to the wipe down area. The truck almost made it up the hill but got stuck on the steepest part. I got out of the boat to make it a little lighter and helped push it up and over the hump. Just me pushing was enough but it was close, we were in 4wheel low and had the diffs locked. I'm not going back to that ramp. I am glad that my little 4wd didn't end up in the lake like the F250 but I'm not taking chances again.
