We went out with Scott and Suzette on Saturday for lots of fun and pic day on his 08 22Ve. Here is ST68 (Scott T) with his 3 yr old daughter - he does a lift at the end (pardon the Sue nose shot). My Jake is on Lakewakes board. We had 5 people in the boat, 1000 lb custom bag in rearlocker/under seat and 300lb fatsac on seat. We run at 11.5 mph w TAPS at 4.5. vid shot w gopro at 720P, 60 fps and w boom extension for closer shot. Photos by Bob L.
Alabama weather has cooled off and so has gone our 92 degree water!!
Not many boats out yesterday, lots of glass to be found!
Kids are tougher than me!
But hey MooseX, I can be tough, I had on my big girl 3 mil britches, lol!!
For the young kids around 3, it is hard to beat a kneeboard. We run 2 kneeboards at a time. Every 3 yr old who has tried has gotten up first try behind my boat. Having a parent or sibling back there on a second kneeboard makes it a lot easier. Most get a little scared on their first run but that goes pretty quickly. Another thing that works sweet for kids is the boom and a wakeskate. Most 3-4 yr olds who are not afraid of the water have no trouble figuring it out.
Here are a couple of older pics
Here he is when he was 4 on the wakeskate. I like the wakeskate because it teaches them balance and edge skills without the face slaps on the wakeboard. Spent a while until he was rock solid on the boom and then tried him behind the boat and he popped up first try. I still use it to teach new kids who come with us. Best thing (besides perfect pass, new prop and a tower) I have ever bought for the boat.
He's jumping pretty well these days at the ripe ol age of 7
Here's me...for some reason I can't buy a sharp pic when I am behind the boat
Not a video but here is a sequence. The hardest part is keeping the board out front but they learn that pretty quick. Falls are super low impact. And the other kids on the boat have a good time chatting with whoever is riding.
You know we are still riding down here but just haven't been taking the camera out with us. Tried to get the most out of the last few days of sun before the rain comes over the next three days. Hoping to get in some runs during October as well. Will bring the camera out next time to post up. Thanks for posting your pics Bakes5!
