    Alpha Z tower problems

So with both our demo boats first an RZR, then a Z1, we've been having tons of problems with the Alpha Z tower, from bushings going bad so we couldn't screw the bolts that hold the tower down in, to the board racks not locking or unlocking once they're in or out, and this has been happening all summer with either boat that we had at the time.

Does anyone else have these problems, or are we just that unlucky, cause its getting really annoying...

also anyone that went to the dealer meeting hear about improvements for the tower? cause that would be great news for me, that and more cup holders haha :P

We had problems w/ the lock/unlock coming loose all the time. Dealer told me there's a service bulletin/recall for this. It changes the quick turn into a handle that can be tightened down.

On the racks - does it look like the hinge pin is all the way in place? I noticed that our had started to back out after a few rides at the beginning of the ear. With it backed out a little, the rack didn't want to lock/unlock. With it in, it works perfect. Just don't get your hand pinched in it while messing with it. It doesn't feel good when there's nobody right there to break it loose again.

As for the cupholders - where the heck would you put more? Across the top of the windshield? =D

X2 - I heard more of a rattle though with our boat. My dealer fixed our Z1 in less then 30 minutes, maybe? Would've went faster if I wasn't talking to him.

You can get those suction cup holders and stick them anwhere you want. I think you can order them through West Marine or Overton's.

Board racks there is a recall tige's aware of the pins not having the correct pins that have minor stopping points and locking point. Locking point being all the way out, stopping point half way in(does not lock just kind of a notch the pin can sit in to hold it there) and then all the way in

Tower what year boat is it? there are set screws that go in on the outside of the tower however tige retired that designed saying they do not use them anymore but up tell the 2012's they have been used.
