Hmm... that makes sense for a warranty replacement, but normally if you're BUYING the new part you still own the old one too.

I agree with the other comment about "they've moved on" too. This isn't their latest and greatest, they've obsoleted this product. Most other boat makers have moved past this generation as well. Not much to "protect" there anymore, except the satisfaction of their customers. I wonder if that's an old policy that doesn't apply to that era of product, but the dealer doesn't realize it?

Wasnt a policy when I ordered one for my 06, that was under warranty and wasnt an issue when I ordered one for a customer out of warranty and had it drop-shipped to him.

Sounds like the dealer pulled a fast one. Hey Adamsjstt, how about going back to the dealer and trying to get that part back? Maybe a quick call to Tige ahead of time to confirm it's not "policy", then you can speak with authority.

Maybe the one you have now was some other owner's broken unit, "kept" and fixed by your dealer for a quick $1500 profit. Do you have paperwork from the Tige FACTORY proving your "new" unit came from them?

I know this is an old post - but the touch pad in my 08 20V seems to be jacked up too. I can press the center button to set it on a speed when I am moving, but up and down do nothing now. Maintains the speed fine once it's engaged. Is there some more cost-effective way to fix this than blowing $1500? I don't have Tige Touch, so I'm hoping there's some way it will be less expensive... Thanks in advance!

Do the side buttons work in other modes, such as selecting from the various presets before you choose one with the center switch? Is there ANY indication of switch operation at any time?

To be honest I'm not actually sure how to toggle between different modes...any pointers? Maybe [hopefully] that is the issue. I have not had any issues using it for over a year, but just recently it started doing this. I am only familiar with basic operation though - so if there is a manual (I couldn't find anything more advanced than up/down/set) or just some pointers that would be greatly appreciated...

Depends on which firmware version you have, and I'm away from the boat right now, but as I recall when you are in cruise mode you can press the center button and the set speed turns red to indicate that you can alter it. Then the up and down buttons should step the speed up and down. Pressing the center button then fixes the desired speed and the number turns white again.

On later firmware revs, when the set speed is white, you can use the up/down buttons when in cruise mode to switch between the various preset speeds. In other words, when the speed value is white up/down will move between presets, while when it's red you are changing THAT preset's speed.

Also: When not in cruise mode, the up/down buttons should rotate you through the various display options (what the little screen shows you).

                      Does any of this work?

Turn the key on and leave the cc switch off. Push the up and down buttons to toggle thru different screens and options. When mine stopped I could not use the up and down buttons when the cc was off.

                          Speedset Assistance

The speedset on my 06 22Ve didn't work at all. I sent a polite email to Tige via the dealer (Malibu Marine in Kelowna, BC) to express my serious disappointment, and they kicked in $500 towards the $1600 repair upon the part being returned.
The darn thing should not have failed at 140 hours, but I am glad Tige helped out and the dealer made it happen.
I'm glad to have the cruise working...I just wish the system was better overall.

I had similar issues on my 07 20V plus when set to a speed it would surge up and down by 5 mph. It turned out that my pad connections was intermittent so Icleaned the terminals with Radio Shack terminal cleaner and that I needed a firmware update by MP to deal with surging issue and problems getting speed set consistently.. It was a common issue but my dealer did not sella lot of Tige boats int theylimmited time they were a Tige dealer.
