New Member - New Boat Questions

Hello everyone,

Thought I'd introduce myself now that'd I've been an actual member for a little while. Howdy!

To make a long story short I've been doing research over the past 4-5 months in preparation for the purchase of a boat and recently have been interested in the Tige brand.

This will be my wife and I's first boat to own. We both (her more so than I) grew up boating occasionally with family and friends, mainly on I/Os and PWCs.

Our quest has us looking for an entry-level inboard (v-drive) with multi-sport capabilities that will fit in our standard garage. We will be entertaining a few friends and family members from time to time and plan to have children in the future. I would prefer to buy used (depreciation reasons) but would consider a new model (more on that later).

The closet dealers are Moomba (33 mi), Tige (84 mi) and Mastercraft (94 mi). Because of this we originally looked at a Moomba Outback V but wanted something that felt more secure and better quality. The folks at MC rubbed me the wrong way when trying to start to work with them so that has us looking at Tige, and in particular the RZR.

We've visited the Tige dealership and they were very friendly had have a 2011 RZR in stock. I'd like help in determining if it is a good deal. I've looked online and without calling all the dealerships that have them I'm unsure of the MSRP and actual sold price on these new, both base and with options. Heck, I'm unsure of a used price too since this is the first year for the RZR and I haven't seen anyone selling them yet. So if you could help me out with this I'd be thrilled.

What do you think? Their site says MSRP is $87,000.

Is that US or Canadian? Sounds very high to me. You should be able to get a fully loaded RZ4 for that price.

I don't know about a fully loaded rz4, i look a loaded loaded rz4 in 08 and they were asking 94k and i'm sure the price has gone up since then. That looks like a high price for a loaded rz2 tough and way high for an rzr, if you're in canada it will be different.

That does look like a Tige MSRP price of an RZ2...

Are you saying that the MSRP for a fully loaded RZ4 would be that much or that you would expect to actually pay that much for one?

I'm trying to arrive at an MSRP for those options (I too thought it seemed high) in order to determine if there actual asking price is fair.

That's kind of what I thought. Do you happen to know the base price on a RZR?

I'd say a RZ4 loaded would be more than that, MSRP wise. But be careful of asking price on boats, there are about 10 different invoices on boats all with a different price on them. Dealers can ask pretty much what ever they want for a boat. Unlike the automobile industry where the sticker price comes straight from the factory boat dealers just print out their own "sticker price". What you actually pay for one is up to what you're willing to pay and what the dealer is willing to sell it for. Best idea is to do some research on the internet (boat trader.com) and see what dealers are ASKING for to arrive at a "fair" starting asking price.

That's why I resorted to asking y'all first. I also want advice from people who actually own these boats.

I would have no clue what a real BASE price of an RZR is before any options. This is the RZR I called about in the link below. They also have an R20 and they told me over the phone their asking price on that boat is somewhere around $48k...

I agree with spenchey and since you are serious, you should call as many dealers as you can to find out their "asking" price and take that data to your local dealer maybe.

i would expect you to pay rought 65k for those options, probably less.

When I visited they told me they were asking 65k, which is right on the money with what you said. Less would be good though!
