    Battery suggestions

Just a quick question for everyone out there. I have had my Tige 22ve for about three years now and one of my batteries finally crapped out on me. I have two batteries in the boat and they are both interstate batteries. I am just going to go ahead and change out both of them. Any recommendations for what kind of batteries I should get? I am not really knowledgeable in the battery department. I am running two amps off of them if that matters I do not know. Thanks for the help everyone.

For a direct replacement, I would stick with the Group-24 Interstates. 24M-XHD for the cracking and the SRM-24 for the deep-cycle. Good quality battery and a good bang of the buck. If you are looking for more stereo play time with the engine off, then you can step up to the Group-29, but be prepared to make some room for it.

Thanks Mike for the help. I am down in Charleston, SC. I am military and just moved here. Do you know what the closest Tige dealer to me is? Or someone that is a authorized service center? I take it you just do audio and ballast. I do need to get a ballast fitting from you. I will message you with what I need. Thanks again for the help.

My vote is for the hybrid (deep cycle / cranking battery) costco specials - if they go bad you can take them back. Gotta love the return policy - I think they are around $85 each.

Oh man, I was just in Charleston Friday and Sat. let em know what you need, and we'll get you fixed up. Like RT noted, Gunnells will be your closest Tige dealer, but you do not need tot travel that far just for batteries or battery replacement.

I was looking for the same thing and came across this part of the interstate page.

I'm going to do some measuring but hopefully I can add the SRM-27B for a dual batt set-up in when I get home. Have fun in Charelston, I know a few guys that are stationed there and love it!

With the way Tige configures their EIDB setup with an diode isolator, there's no advantage to using a dual purpose battery. The high current draws will always and only come off one battery, and the starter will only and always draw off the other battery. Using a dual-purpose in the main starting batter spot is ok, but the house spot will never start the engine, so a true deep-cycle is a better choice.
