rushin - I suggest you pack the bags and move on out. I almost moved on to Beaver Lake, as I do a lot of business in that area. My wife couldn't see living in a college and 1 business town, so we picked the next large city area with an airport. Beaver Lake is beautiful, and they get some nice weather in the summer and an occasional snowfall in the winter. You won't regret a change of pace from the desert.

yllw20 - thanks for the link, Those cabins look like a different experience we may try out. I'm looking forward to some Austin music and barbecue.

David - I'm surprised I haven't seen you on a lake yet. We live in between Grapevine and Lewisville. We really liked Ray Roberts, and we are looking forward to Cedar Creek, the Brazos and Ray Hubbard in the upcoming weeks. If you see us on the lake please flag us down. I think we may be the only California boat on Lewisville, and the only one with a Phat Budde Tower, we are easy to spot!

flackpack- We were there visiting my mom in Rogers, they live in Beaver Shores so I would like to go to that area. There just is not many jobs in that area for me including Fayetteville. And I would be taking my wife away from her family which isn't far away. I can deal without seeing mine .
I'm on a boat man. I got my flippy floppies....

flackpack - Awesome! From experience, I'll tell you this ahead of time, Cedar Creek can be a fun lake to hang out on, but since it is one of the only lakes allowing docks/lakehouses, and it's line with retaining walls, you can expect wallies and rough water.

On another note, you should check out www.dallaswakeboarding.com and the Texas Wakeboard Tour this weekend at Texas Mastercraft. It's the last stop, and almost a Pro Wakeboard Tour sized event. If you get some free time, definitely go check out the Dallas scene and events down that way.

Next time I'm out, I'll look for you guys.

          Already bought a house?

This is close to where I am from. Also close by, there's also a small ramp and spot on Lake Lavon (down a old gravel road just south of Farmersville) that only 5 or so boats knew about, when I lived there. Big enough for a ski course and surrounded by trees sticking out of the water. So it looks unrideable from Hwy 380, but is glass 90% of the time, because it's so protected.

Lake Austin is nothing but Ski/Wakeboats and has a little place called Hula Hut down past the 360 bridge.

Lake Travis is awesome and you can cruise up the Perdenales river from there. Also home to a Carlos and Charlies.

Texoma is HUGE with sandy islands out in middle of the lake for hanging out.

Typing this makes me wish I never left...
