Wow!!!!...what a great looking boat...makes me wish I lived closer to the west coast. Looking forward to the videos....the boat is definitely in the rights hands for showing all of us the potential

I think if they did, the boat would just slop over at speed. Agree, great for surfing. My 24Ve slops over like that, and you have to go faster. The RZ2 did not. Maybe someday there will be a wakesurf only boat, probably not soon.http://wake9.com/

Yeah I mean those. They have no point on a wakeboat. I believe they are called chimes. The Tige wave is never as "pretty" as the malibu or centurion wave. I think that is from these chines. I think they are a left over hull design from skiing.Build thread: http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/showthread.php?14787-Duffy-s-2005-24v-wakesurfing-mod-thread&highlight=duffys+24v

Maybe, but that wasn't my impression. If you drive like 25mph on the 24Ve, planed, just people... and you are weighted fairly evenly, it will sometimes "fall" over to one side, as best I can describe it. And when turning, it doesn't turn flat. Its like the boat is a bit too big for those chines to work at slower speed. At around 30, the boat is more stable and when turning, it turns flat, doesn't roll in the turns. I always took that to be a result of those chines. Same thing on my older boats, I had a 95 four winns 190 Horizon that the hull was designed to run flat at speed, can't remember what they called that hull, but same thing, had those chines. Boat handled like a sports car at 25 or so plus. We later got a 220 horizon, a 1998. It was more like the 24Ve, it took more speed to get that hull to keep the boat running flat like that.
Now, personally, I would give up those chines because we are die hard surfers, and would just deal with it. But I don't think a lot of people would.http://wake9.com/

Yeah seriously the boat has no use for these. Only part of the 24v I don't like. (disclaimer- I am not a boat engineer so I am probably wrong)My avalanche wave was way more "pretty" then my 24v wave.Build thread: http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/showthread.php?14787-Duffy-s-2005-24v-wakesurfing-mod-thread&highlight=duffys+24v

I had heard the term Chine before but did not know where on the hull it was. So I went out to Wiki (where all info is correct )
This is what they said hard chines are for -
"Once sufficiently powerful marine motors had been developed to allow powerboats to plane, it was found that the flat underside of a chined boat provided maximum hydrodynamic lift, while the sharp discontinuity at the chine enabled spray to be deflected away as opposed to riding up the sides of the boat. Consequently, almost all boats designed for high speed on the plane are nowadays of hard chine construction."
When you think of riding in a wakeboat at high speeds (like water ski speeds) the water always sprays away from the boat.
Interesting topic....."You're rather attractive for a beautiful girl with a great body."

I was told by a boat engineer that they are left over from water skiing days. I don't think any other manufacture has them still. Who cares how the boat tracks going 35mph If I had a little more balls I would cut them outBuild thread: http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/showthread.php?14787-Duffy-s-2005-24v-wakesurfing-mod-thread&highlight=duffys+24v

Y, I don't know enough about them, but I do talk to tige and tige designers enough to know that they aren't keeping them on because of the old waterski days. The Z3 was a new hull, and I know they were testing and making adjustments for things like "spray" and such.
I agree though, would love to alter for a wakesurf only boat.
I did not think of doing this for chines, but am considering an alteration at the rub rail on my 24Ve. I have the balls with the 24Ve, that is my project boat.
I have those chines on the 24Ve, but not as pronounced. I may think about that duffy, would be a fun experiment none the less. I wonder how much lift those provide at 12mph? I am pretty sure the supreme doesn't have them.http://wake9.com/

It creates a not as smooth wave. I can see the water being disrupted by them when I surf. I bet the wave would be night and day better without them. Tell Tige to spot putting them in! Cut away Ragboy and if you get good results, maybe I will do the sameBuild thread: http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/showthread.php?14787-Duffy-s-2005-24v-wakesurfing-mod-thread&highlight=duffys+24v
