    Wakesurf Camps

A couple buddies and I typically head west for a snowboard outing during the winter months. Every year we get a little more susceptible to the cold winter days.

So we are thinking of finding a wakesurfing camp somewhere warm that we could hone our skills, BS, drink some beer and have a good time.

My question - Is there a camp out there that operates from January to late March somewhere that a couple of middle aged, pasty white WI boys can go to for 5 days? We would prefer somewhere in the States – easier sell to the wives.

I have been looking online but have not found anything that promotes itself as a true wakesurfing camp.

I am all for Texas. But can you handle 4 WI boys for 5 days.

Plus the last time I was in Texas in January it was 45 degrees out! And I remember the city of Dallas was shut down due to snow right around the Superbowl.

Is Texas better in February, March or April?

Tyler Marshall gives lessons and camps on Lake Grapevine (also one of the few TX lakes with plenty of water) in the Dallas Ft Worth area. I do not know of anyone that has been but the website is www.dfwsurf.com if you want to check them out. Jan/Feb can be pretty "iffy" on the weather in DFW. One day it could be snow/ice (last years Superbowl) and the next could be 70's. As mentioned above I would wait 'til later in spring just to be safe. Let the TO Texans know if you guys head down and we could probably put a good group together (should have the new 1200lb sac in the Z1 by then as well
