    Best dash ever?

I stopped by my local dealer yesterday and they had an '05 20v on display in the show room. I got all excited when I saw the dash. It is the same dash I've got in my 2000 22i. I was under the impression that this dash was discontinued. Obviously it is not. My question is, can you get that dash in anything other than last years 20v? In my opinion that is the best dash Tige has EVER had. Logical, easy lay out of all gauges and switches. All the gauges point directly at the driver and are set back under the top edge of the dash itself, making them easy to read accurately, tons of knee room for the long legged fellows and just plane old good lookin'. It is nice and compact with everything at your fingetips. Why it was changed I can only guess. Just for the sake of change? Fear of growing stagnent in an ever changing market? If it ain't broke, don't fix it. This has been one of the major sore spots for me on the newer Tiges (that, the sloped transom and the interior layout of the 22i's). If I could get a 22i in the Ve hull, "standard" interior lay out and the old dash, I would be at the dealership tomorrow.
Untill then, I guess all I can do is cry about it. Waaaaaaaa!

you are probably talking about the millenium dash which was an option until 04 at least. You dont see it much on the newer boats because it was a $1000 upgrade. My boat has it too and I like it better as well.

NICKYPOO- I am a little confused about what you are looking for. A 22i in a ve hull? The 22i already has a place to sit and storage is accessible. "that, the sloped transom and the interior layout of the 22i's" You do not like the layout of the 22i, what is a standard interior layout. The i's transom do not slope nearly as much as the v's.

Just a little confused I guess.

      Am I missing something?

Actually, the way I worded that is a little confusing. You are correct in your statement that the 22i's transom is not as sloped as the V's. That's the one thing I actually like on the 22i. The sloped transom and the interior lay out of the 22i are separate issues on seperate boats. It's no secret that I hate the sloped transom on the Vs. I also don't care for interior lay out on the 22i. I would much rather have a full width bench and a full width trunk. That is what I mean when I say "standard". I really like the look of the Ve's transom, even if it is just an add on to the sloped transom. It just looks awsome. Then there is the dash. I don't believe it is the millenium dash I like. When that dash came out I rember saying "what the hell did they do that for". Mabey I'm wrong but, to the best of my knowledge The millenium came out after my boat was produced. Seeing that my dash is on some pre 2000 models I'm guessing it is not the millenium. You've got to go back one more dash style to get to the one I would want in my new boat. So, if I had my druthers, I would want the Ve hull in a direct drive configuration, with a full width bench and trunk and my beloved old dash.

rushin- are you headed out this weekend?

There you go Danny @ Tige, something to design, a 22ie for '07. That would be pretty interesting. I personally do not like having to step over the "trunks" if you will, like on the current 21i or the current V's. But hey you know what they say about opinions.

NICKY- we are heading out, however we still do not know what day or if we are camping. How about you, where you going?

rushin-We are definately not camping. Not on this weekend. We are headed out on Monday for the day. Hopefully all the suckers will have cleared out by then. We are camping next weekend though. Weekend after that, National Championship Air Races baby. I'm all sorts of pumped up for that. Do you ever go?

Danny @ Tige- I want your job.

                  Nickypoo,

A picture would help. This is the milenium dash from my 2002 21V: I liked it a lot. The current dash is not bad, but I do like the millenium dash a little bit better.

The 20v has a older model i-drive dash not the big v's dash.

I believe the above picture is of a 21i. Mine is a 22i. The helm on the 22i is actually quite a bit wider and deeper. My drink holder is in front of the windshield support as opposed to the one in the picture being behind it. Overall probably 5 to 6 inches either way larger than the one in the picture. That being said, look at the width and the height of the "knee space". Room for days. All the switches are at your finger tips and all the gauges are right there together and pointing directly at the driver. It's a beautiful thing.

Where's the perfect pass gauge in that last pic?

What is this so called "Perfect Pass"? By looking at the picture I would say there isn't one. Easily swapped with one of the speedos though if you need one of them thar new fangled, fancy pants thangs.
