Window Tinting? Pros and cons?

I'm considering getting the windows on my RZ4 tinted. On the surface it seems like a no brainer as I look at the forecast for this weekend and it might reach 100 here in Colorado... But it doesn't seem like a lot of boats get tinted? Are there pros and cons to getting this done? Why aren't more boats tinted?

Im beginning to really like the look of tinted boats. The only con I could see would be the tint getting scrathed on the inside....but even that is a little bit of a stretch. You would just need to be careful with it.

I think generally it's hard to find someone who will tint a boat. I called several places that didn't tint boats till I finally found one that did. With the curvature of the windows, it's not easy to do. Mine isn't as perfect as I would like, but I do like the look of it better.

It also seems to cool things down a bit as well.

Thought about getting mine done, but then I thought about how hard it is to see out my tahoe with tinted windows in real dark areas at night and I thought it would be hard to see on the water through the tint at night as well.

It looks really good on boats though.

I found a shop here in Las Vegas that will do it for $200. I paid $100 for my Avalanche windshield so $200 seems reasonable considering the difficulty of the curved windows. I agree, it looks good on boats, especially the black/white boats like j2dna's above!

Only place I have had to be careful with is the walk through glass. I like the look and function of mine and wouldn't go back to not having it.

I got mine tinted & I love it...Except early in the morning & dusk when its a little darker & especially at night. I cant see through the window & have to sit up on the seat riser to see through.

Other than that I love them & it really completes the boat & gives it a finished look.

We tinted our windsheld on the 2005 24v and its great. 1 step lighter than the limo tint. Works fantastic. You will be happy!

There was someone at the WWS Tige Party that had theirs done and said to just make sure you don't get it too dark because of those early morning and dusk runs.

Correct! Hard to believe my beloved boat is going to be 4 years old soon. Time flies when you own a boat.
