What do the ACC switches do on a 24Ve?

I have two ACC switches on my dash. I presumed they were "extras" to be used when accessories are added. But when I got behind them to consider hooking something up, both have power (input) leads going to them and output leads going into the maze of ziptied wires.

I've tried switching them but can't see anything happening anywhere. Any ideas on what these switches are wired up to control?

I have one and was told that it goes to the transom light, don't know if you have one. I need to change the transom buld so I can't say that is what it does for sure.

I have one on my 20v, and I use it to turn my amps on and off.

By 07 or 08, Tige was building only one wire harness for the boat. It was prewired for every ORM option offered. This cut down on inventory and cost. This made it easier to build the boats, as it was just a plug-n-play for the accessory options. No more splicing in and running additional wiring as the the boat was under construction. In most cases, the unused ends are labeled, you just have to find them. For example, the transom light was an option that was on an ACC switch. Back behind the batteries along the transom, you will find the wire deadhead taped up with the rest of the harness. So adding a transom light, or other accessory, is simple.

Yep, you're right, I've found those wire ends all over the boat complete with labels. Maybe the ends connected to the ACC switches are also labeled? I'll have to check.

If they are prewiring the switches, it's odd that they don't also silkscreen the switches to be more specific than "ACC". They do it with other features that aren't always present - for example, my tower light switch has an "AFT" position but I don't have aft lights, both positions turn on the forward-firing tower lights.

Not a big deal to me, but since you are pursuing it....

How about what the wiring harness has it connected for? "Transom Light", to cite the specific example mentioned here. How do they decide that one option should get a generic ACC while another option gets specific labeling?

ACC is transom light on my '07. I have another switch that doesn't do anything but I can't remember what it says.
