That is why I have considered the RZ2 a GREAT surf boat, and the 24Ve and RZ4, GOOD surf boats. As our new testing confirms, the 24Ve can be better than the RZ2, but its weighted past what I would ever recommend for an average family. And we only do this on flat uncrowded mid week days.

Ragboy, I really appreciate this stance. I love the pics of the all the great 24 projects (e.g., Wake9, WABoating, Duffy) and those wakes are undeniably beautiful. But they also require ALOT of after-market work and ALOT of weight and lean.

I sometimes worry that a potential Tige owner will come here to do research for a new boat and take away that you have to have a slammed 24 for a good surf wake.

Which as you point out is NOT the case ... I agree that an RZ2 (or RZR) is an excellent plug-n-play (with sack swap) surf machine.
