Here's some video of Dom Legace surfing behind the Z3 (hopefully this is publicly available):

Here's a screen capture...pretty good looking wave. I don't know what the ballast setup is or how many people on board though.

Needs some cleaning up to get that lip out of there. You can see when his board hit it is is throwing him off.

Are the tower speakers cutting out during the first part of the video? You can hear music still going in the back ground but not very clearly if compared to the last part of the video.

Low down on the Z3 ballast in the video:
Big Tim, that boat had the pro system in it. 2000 LBS total. 1200 in the rear (600 on each side) and two 400 LB bags in the front. we were running about 11.4 MPH and TAPS on 3

Z3 might even fit into my garage.

But I like the boat I have now, but a new boat would be nice.

That bow playpen set-up would kill any interest I would have in the Z3. Doesn't make sense to me. I can see that this feature may improve the structural rigidity of the boat, but it takes away the function of being able to walk to the bow.

I have never liked it either, but I don't think it is going to bother me. But I will let you know. ;-) It definitely helps the rigidity. Have you ever gone to close your window and its all out of whack, especially in heavy chop? That should go away.

For me, I really like the cooler there over the other places. When it was under observer seat in our 2007, you always had to make someone get up. When it was behind driver, didn't always have to get someone up, but it took away from VALUABLE surf sac space. So for me, since I would rather have a built in cooler than not, I think its a good compromise, but will know for sure when we start going out in the Z3.

I thought so too. But when I bought my most recent boat, I kept the front center cushion in place instead of removing it like I had done with other boats. In fact, with other boats, it always sat unused in the corner of the garage. But now that I have it in place, I have grown to like it.

As long as it is not in the way of my legs when I turn sideways (this really is pretty much a deal killer for me on some boats like Supras) in the driver's seat, then I would be stoked to have it. I think Supra thought it was a good idea to have a continuous seating area around the walkway to the passenger side...I like the Z3 better.

Compared to this crappy setup, where the driver cannot turn sideways unless he has really short legs...

That Z3 wave has a nasty lip to it, hopefully more ballast placed appropriately will dial it in... looks short and steep also?

Any pricing available yet on price of the new board racks?

I hate to ask becuase it will probably cause me to sell, my boat, motorcyle, and truck. Which will make for a long strong-man style tow to the lake ¿Cuál es el costo

@tall, well its different than just the bow cushion. Its like having the bow cushion go all the way back through the walkthrough. But agree, I hated the supra implementation.

I think there will be days we miss the open bow, but for the most part, I think we will like it mostly because of the placement of the cooler, we will see.

@jd I have only seen a couple of pics from the Z3 so not much to judge. The boat is wide like the RZ2/RZ4/24Ve and the attitude of the sides of the boat and the V look similar:

That notch in the corner is different. Should be fun. The rub rail looks higher, that excites me.

Is it just the gelcoat design or does the draft look to be deeper on this Z3?

I think its the angle of the camera, it looks about the same as the RZ2.
