    Wet Sounds xs-650s?

Looking to put all new speakers in my 20v. Currently I have all the stock kickers and two are blown so instead of putting just a pair in I am planning on either sticking Wet Sounds XS-650 or JL Audio M770-ccx-sg-tb. The wetsounds should bolt right in but the tweeter in the middle of the grille and not removable to put where the kicker tweeter is and the jl audios are a little bigger so I will have to cut out each hole a little bit. The JLs are over $150 more a pair but I only want to do this once. I guess my question is how do the stock wet sounds speakers sound, is everyone happy or do you still want to replace them. A friend of mine has an X25 and has the JLs and it sounds great but they are quite a bit more money and they will not fit in my stock tower speaker cans so I will have to replace them too. What do you guys think?

I am a little confused if the speakers you are talking about are all interior, tower or both.

You cannot go wrong with the JL. The interior speakers are awesome. Wetsounds are great as well, but you are looking at having a non-functioning, non-matching tweeter or glassing over a tweeter hole, ick! I would go with JL. A bigger hole is easier to make and will not disappoint.

As far as tower, save up for HLCD's.

You likely will want to upgrade an amp. Which amp do you have now and how is it configured?
    Be excellent to one another.

X2, the WS are awesome speakers but the extra hole would push me towards the JLs.

Why not consider the Kicker KM6250.2 Marine components? They will drop right in place of what you have now?

Not trying to talk you out of brand "A" or brand "B" as both the Wet Sounds and JLs are awesome sounding speakers, just wanted to offer an easy solution. The KM6250.2 is a great sounding speaker, so try and get a listen to it. Even better if you can hear it along with any others you are considering.

What kind power will you be pushing to the speakers?

Also, some have pulled the tweeters and replaced them with LED pucks.

I am extremely happy with my XS-650's, they are very loud and extra clear. I have 8 on my boat and 2 syn 4's pushing them and they are awesome. I cant say enough about how happy I am with the product that WetSounds puts out to its customer.

As far as the other brands, I have only used them in car audio so my input on the marine performance is nill.

The led lights are a great idea, I guess having non-functioning tweeters are only going to bother me and the installer because no one else will ever know. How are the new kicker speakers? I have not even considered them because no one has ever carried them in town so the boat is the first experience I have had and not impressed. For the life of me I cannot remember the amps, I think there is a 750.4 and maybe a 340.3, it is whatever came with the tower of power option. The next boat is getting ordered with out any stereo gear.

Your 06 probably has the KS series Kickers, which are the car line, so yes, I can understand. The Kicker KM Marine line is built from the ground up as a Marine speaker. As far as build quality goes, i'll put them head to head with any other....oh wait, I do I run them on my sound board. Sound quality, ie what everyone's ears likes to hear, is so suggestive, so you really need to try and get a listen for your self. It does no good for me to tell you how much I like them. I run compariable speakers at compariable power and let the consumer decide which he likes the sound of.

Your amps are probably the 700.5 running the in-boats and sub and the 350.4 for the tower. Power wise, you are good, even though both the KM6250.2 and the XS-650 really come to life with 100W+ to each.

You cant go wrong with any that you are looking at, so go with whats going to be the best fit for the swap out and what sounds the best to you.
