Hello, looking for a little advice. I have a 2004 24V with the 375HP closed cooled motor. We were on the lake yesterday and as I was heading to the marina to get gas (knew I was low) when we ran out. First time ever, but it was my own fault since I knew I was low. Of course the fuel gage read a 1/4!
Anyway, got towed in to the marina and got gas. Started the boat up fine and ran the kids around for awhile. Stopped for a swim and lunch in a cove. Went to start the boat again and it had a hard time starting in neutral. Would kick over but just not start. Gave it some gas in neutral and then it started. Tried pulling the throttle lever back to neutral position and it would die. Finally got it going after multiple tries where I could get in gear with out stalling.
What I am wondering is if I may have damaged the fuel pump when I ran it dry. Any ideas? How hard is it to change the fuel pump? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
