    Stolen Propeller!

Has anyone else ever had their propeller stolen??

We went out to the lake (the boat is stored there) this weekend for the first time this summer (its been a pretty wet summer) and after getting everything ready to go and giving it a good clean, we get everyone in the boat and ready to go, but when i try to back it off the trailer, no such luck. Decided to pull it up to the top of the launch to have a look. Just to humor myself i check to see if the prop is still there, and sure enough, its gone.

Is there anyway to prevent this?

also, pm me if you have a 1.125" LH prop for sale or know of a good source to get them. They cost an arm and a leg up here in Canada.

I didn't but I friend of mine did. His boat was on his lift. The worst was they took out his plug in the back of the boat also. If the prop wasn't removed, he would have sunk the boat. I don't ever remember him being that mad.

I think they make a nut with a special pattern so the only way to get it off is the socket that comes with the kit.

I had a lock on my old stern drive yeas ago. I'm not sure these will work on our inboards, but might be worth a call?

            When I had a Sport bike I used a New York Chain® 1210.

Thick and flexible...You could wrap that thing around and around the prop/shaft...That way the thieves would have a harder time getting the prop off!

That sucks. The things people will do.

I would check with Chpthril to see what he can do for you in getting a new one.

                yup, shoot him a pm.

as far as locking it, idk what to suggest. If someone wants it bad enough, they are gonna get it. If your storing your boat for a while, pull the prop off? Then make a card board one, tape it on the shaft, and write those guys a note on it hahaha.

The bafoon that stole your prop HAD to be (without any doubt) a republican.

You just had to go there... It has been my experience that the Republicans are not afraid to work for what they have and expect no handout. The Democrats on the other hand, always want a hand out and when they can't get it, they steal to get it! The prop is probably for a stolen boat, lol.

Democrats believe in sharing. Sharing is good, even if it's a prop.

He was probably an oil hating liberal. So essentially the same thing.
