Depth finder question

Has anyone had any issues with their depth finder?

My last 2 times out on the boat my depth finder starter to jump around. Most of the time it shows 997 ft and once in a while it goes back to the right depth, even when the boat is not moving.

I also notice that my speed set is jumping around more than usual. For instance, when i set it to 11.4 for surfing sometimes it jumped around from 9 to 15.

Any ideas?

Do you have the EDIB batteries and are they both charged?

If you have the puck type transducer it may have popped loose from the hull. You can glue it back with epoxy.

Bad connection?

An easy possibility is that you have an intermittent connection to the triducer.
