    Tige Touch IPOD interface BLOWS!

Generally the Tige Touch buttons are quick and responsive. I found when the ipod is plugged into the usb function it is slow and the arrow doesn't show up beside the selection. I have the clarion transom remote and it works 5 times faster. Anybody else have this issue?

Sry no Touch here but another related question (hopefully not too off topic).

When you use the Clarion transom remote, does it occasionally stop taking input (eg, no skip to next) but continue to play?

      I know right?
They really need to do a software upgrade and fix the playlist issue. The touch buttons aren't really user friendly, and I can't browse through my ipod interface like I can using my "Dodge Pickup" reciever.
My boat has the first gen touch and I've installed the 2011 update, just hope yearly updates fix/improve this awesome feature.

My Clarion remote never skips a beat until it fills up with water. (had to replace it once). I truly hope they can fix the touch screen functions with a software update!

The Tige Touch iPod interface is slow.

I added the WS420, which has an aux input. You can plug an iPod into the aux input (from the headphone jack) and run the head unit through the main input You can then switch the 420 between the main (the head unit) and the aux (the iPod). When hooked up to the aux, you can use the controls on the iPod itself. I do that when I'm driving/pulling and want to be chaging music quickly.

When just hanging out, I will plug the iPod into the USB connection on the head unit and switch the 420 to main. That allows control through the Tige Touch, transom remote, or wireless remote (wireless remote is great when sitting in the cove). It also charges the iPod.

Having both options has worked out well for me. Plus, I love the sound controls on the 420 (fade between tower and cabin is key).

I have tried this but bass response is terrible compared to the iPod jack interface. Do you notice substantially degraded sound?

My boat came stock with a 3.5mm jack to plug in but it doesn't charge and my ipod headphone jack only works on left side speakers so it's useless with this plug in.

I have the same setup and use in the same way. I won't chare the ipod, but when battery is low I simply plug into the USB. As far as any Bass issue I have no sound difference using Aux or USB.

I assume you are talking about an Apple dock connector to USB cable. If so, I would be surprised if your headphone jack pumped out as much bass signal as the Apple dock connector. Are you running any sort of line amplifier off the headphone jack (as used with high quality headphones)? Or perhaps you are just not cranking it up hard?

I have use the USB in the glovebox. It is crazy slow going through the Tige Touch. Is there an update or anything that would speed it up?

My USB in the glovebox doesn't even seem to recognize that I have plugged an ipod in to it. It charges, but will not play at all.
I use the aux input below the tige touch (which sounds great) and charge the ipod with a cigarette lighter adapter.

Yah it sure is, that's the whole point of this thread, Maybe Tige could make an update for it??

My ipod sometimes did not recognize, so i would unplug the usb then back in ( be sure the ipod it turned on ) then it would recognize.

agreed, my ipod interface is painfully slow. The playlist issue is bad. Its awsome when it decides to work...but a lot of times I get mad at it and just plug into the headphone jack as well.

I have the same problem with my transome remote, it hasn't worked since day one and fills up with water every time we go out...I am sure these issues will be addressed this fall when it goes in for winterization.

Wait -- Can you guys see the playlist via your Tige Touch? I can click forward or reverse, but definitely can't see what's playing. I'm using a 4th Gen IPod Touch.
