    Taking on water from somewhere.

Whenever we get the boat up on plane after going slow for a while the bilge pump turns on and pumps out water. I do not understand where this water is coming from, I am assuming the bow is lower than the rear in the water so that is where it collects and then when the water all rushes to the back triggering the pump to turn on. A friend of mine has a tige and he said that he has some water coming through the lights and the front tow hook but have not had the boat off the lift yet to take a look, anyone else had similar problems and where was it coming from? Also the boat is a 2006 20v, thanks.

Prop shaft seal? Hose clamps? I would check that kind of stuff first.

My fiberglass muffler on my 07 20i cracked and water would come in while we were sitting dead in the water. The bilge pump came on every hour to keep up.
So this monkey walks into a bar...

Mine takes on water from the prop shaft seal. It won't auto bilge until I get up on plane as well, or stand on the gunwale behind the driver seat.
        Waiting for another good one!

Both of my fiberglass mufflers cracked and my prop shaft seal was leaking when I got my boat. My bildge went off all the time The shaft seal is an easy fix. Just remove the allen bolts. There are 2 in each hole. Then slide the stainless flange so that it compresses the diaphragm 3/4 of an inch. Mine doesn't really leak at all anymore. Then put the allens back in and you should be good to go.

I've had the bow eye come loose and water come in through it. I've also had a muffler come loose and that led to water coming in. Both just needed tightening and they have become part of my preseason check list.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

X2 on the bow eye coming loose. Figured it out mid-week on my last trip to Shasta.

                Good luck with your diagnosis!
