    Guess for 2012 Tige

I have not been following the forum as closely, mainly due to the increasing use of spam, but last I can recall there was supposed to be a big Tweet announcement that never really was, then there was some teaser photos, of the vinyl and low reflective dash, but there was more to follow.

My guess for a big announcement is that there is a ratcheting swim platform. That it normally is at 90 degrees, but when wake surfing you can push it up to about 45 degree to be the end all of end all of if/how the swim platform affects the surf wave.

Anybody has a guess, or did I totally miss the big announcement somewhere in the see of cheap Iphones and speakers spam.
The worst day of boating is still the better than the best day of work......, unless you bend your prop.

Having nothing to do with 2012 products, as I don't know....

Getting the deck up off of the wake is usually not a good thing. Many people have tried that, and I even know of some boats where this is done. It makes the wake worse when you pull the deck up. The deck does a vital job of blocking the prop wash.

If you remove your deck and then do a surf wake, and then play with the taps, you will see exactly what I mean. The taps plate at various angles can throw lots of wash in different directions.

The best thing you can do to a surf deck, from our experimentation is round off or angle the corners and make it completely smooth on the bottom. A teak deck also usually works well, since it is smoother on the bottom.

The decks on our RZ2 and our 24Ve I believe are in the right spot as far as height, and having them angle up would hurt the wake.

It would be curious to have a ratcheting deck that could adjust in very small increments up and down. If you have a smooth deck, it probably acts a bit like a big taps plate. It would be fun to find that perfect setting. Maybe its at 2 degrees DOWN, or 3 degrees up. But def not up and out of the way.

Looking forward to the new lineup as well.

I know what the announcement is and it's definitely not a ratcheting swim platform

Tige will be adding a plate as an option instead of the taps. Its adjustable from the dash and sinks the boat down further for bigger wake, especially for wakesurfing.

It will be called the Wedgie®.

LOL. Don't knock it til you've seen it.

The cool thing is the dash control, to get the Wedgie® up, you put your finger under the dash and in this slot and pull the switch down and out. You don't ever have to set it, its automatic. You just surf for a while and it automatically works itself into position.

@duffy I have thought about trying a switchblade on my 24Ve, not sure. It makes me think I can get the wake out of the 24 without going nuts on ballast, especially since I have less room than you do on the 24V. I am on the fence. I have talked to people that swear by the switchblade, then have also heard stuff in the other direction.

                        What do you think?

Of coarse the blade or even a wedge would help. It's the same concept as ballast. The biggest wave out is the 247 with 3k in ballast an a power wedge. So unless tige does a wedge type device you won't be able to beat it. If you want the best wave then the blade or wedge would be the way to go. Only reason I didn't do on my boat is the FAE. I hate breathing nasty fumes while surfing.

y, I know. But this is a project boat, so thinking about it. Its such a huge piece of hardware.

The guys at FAE can make most of the stuff for a wedge.
