    RZ4 purchase

I am about to buy an 2011 RZ4. We are deciding between a full load with 450 engine or an almost full load with 409 engine.

Any idea what a reasonable price would be?

other desired options? plan to surf alot? wakeboard only? how do u plan to use the boat? always helpful to know more about your plans since that will change boat config.

We will be using it for surfing 90% of the time, so pro ballasts and will swap out rear with custom sacs. Other than surfing everything else is not overly important.

I have a 09 Centurion Avalanche now, and we are having trouble making the wake on the goofy side longer so we are not all over the swim platform. It also has way too much wash on the goofy side.

i got the 343 and it grunted a lot when heavy, thought i made a mistake in engine size ,but after i put a acme 1235 on it pulls out of the hole with 3000+lbs and riders .Happy now ,not sure what the gas consumption difference is but i might choose a bigger engine next time if the $ isnt much greater

We have the 343 on our RZ2 and the 340 on the 24Ve. Needed the 1235 on the 24Ve, not on the RZ2. For wakesurfing, you really don't need the 409 even, def not the 450. With the 343 it sips gas at like 4 GPH.

I suggest to get a partner to split the boat with then you don't need to worry about cost. He could teach you how to surf too!
