    Just bought an H3 ...

It has a small V8 (3.7)... Will that be good enough to pull my boat? I have a dorsey trailer with a 22I.

    Thanks

looks like it's rated for 4500 lbs. I expect you'll be working it pretty hard, but if it is short distances, flat, it would probably work.

Yeah, max 5 minutes from lake Dunlap with no hills. If we go to canyon lake we will use the Tahoe. Thanks

By the way..if it is a 3.7L it is not a V8, it's an inline 5 cylinder. The V8 they introduced in the H3 Alpha (2008) was a (5.3L) and at 300hp it could easily tow your boat all day. The tow rating from the 3.7L is 4500 and from the 5.3L it is up to 6000.

        Just saying

The inline 5 is a pretty torquey motor from what I remember, a buddy of mine bought one when they were new and I was surprised how much pickup it had. We took it offloading and it was pretty capable, not as good as my brothers jeep but pretty good. Your going to want to get your boat weighed at some point, it's going to be more than 4500#'s. You might need airbags or some sort of helper springs to keep the little truck level. I had to add helper springs to my 4Runner (rated to tow 7,000 #'s with the v8).
