Ok, I left my batteries on by accident over the last 10-12 days. I was at 28 hours but loaded boat in water yesterday and the counter near battery shows 418!!!! Any suggestions or other way to know when next service is to be done?? Also, I thought the counter was for engine hours only?!

You either left the key on or your gauge is hooked up wrong. It should not have counted hrs without the key in the on position. You can have the ECM scanned to get the real hours as it only counts hours when it read rpm's. I would find out the real hours and get a new gauge and run it to the hours to match what the ECM says.

I got my R20 about a month ago and realized the hours were not counting correctly, meaning that I have driven around 35 hours and the counter still shows 1 hour. Your problem is a lot bigger than mine, but the point is my boat is at the dealer getting fixed hopefully. I would be shocked if they didn’t fixed your problem.
(Keys were hanging on fridge at the time.) Side note to this my key ignition is being replaced/fixed because you can turn the key all the way over to the left and right and sometimes I can take the key out and it will still play music and sometimes it doesn’t. Maybe if I left my battery on I would be in the same boat. Anyway hope this helps and good luck.
