    rudder question

three weeks ago we hit a submerged log in the river. damage was bent prop, and strut. fixed it all up thanks to brandon at Texas Tige. now my problem is that the rudder now is lose and can rattle the rudder by hand. my question is if anybody has had experence with rudder repair and if i could possibly just order a bushing kit to stiffin it back up?

    Thanks, Drew

The rudder has a packing. You may have dented it or flattened it. Im actually surprised you hit the rudder since you first hit the prop strut and prop. Would have though the boat bounced over the log.
So this monkey walks into a bar...

I replaced my rudder because it was cracked. there is a plate that it goes into that mount to the bottom of the boat and it has a nylon bushing in it. First check and see if that plate is moving. Disconnect the linkage going to the rudder and then check the play to see where it is coming from.
I'm on a boat man. I got my flippy floppies....

Thanks guys I still need to disassemble the rudder, this could be an ongoing issue that I just found. Will post pics when I take it apart.
