    Rear Locker Divider Wall Issue

Today I filled our new Enzo sac. However, the divider wall between the right rear locker and the motor could not contain the sac and ended up close to the exhaust manifold.

The divider wall is not a perfect fit. Also, the guides that support the divider wall are molded plastic.

I have a few ideas to fix the problem. However, before I get started, perhaps someone on the forum had a similar issue and a simple fix.

    Thanks

I got my panties in a bunch when I filled my enzos in my driveway...walls falling over and panic!!!

. However once the sacs were filled on the water the boat tilted and alotta that pressure was transfered to the side of the boat.

I do have some 2" aluminum 'L' brackets made up for the problem. They're goin to be mounted on the floor. Not sure how much farther I'll take the deal. I could mount some serious aluminum crossways' but there's no real mounting point unless I do it diaganolly from the floor to the back of the seat.

I'll wait till the boat is off the lake then check it out

1 tip is to allow the sac to vent so its not bulging like a balloon.

Next, adding a piece of aluminum angle iron to the bottom will take some load off the plastic channel guide. If the wall needs some reinforcing itself, mount some aluminum angle iron vertically on the back side.

How much aluminum angle iron should I use? Should it be mounted in the locker area or on the motor side? Also, how do you mount the angle iron to the boat? I don't think I can get under the rear locker.

Since I keep our boat at Lake Texoma which is about 45 minutes from my home, I can't walk outside to take a look. So if the above questions appear too basic, that's my excuse.

        Thanks.

I reinforced my removable locker walls with aluminum channel on the engine side (to keep small, sharp edges away from the fat sacs). Two pieces, mounted vertically, at 1/3rd and 2/3rds across the width. Works great and doesn't interfere with the normal use of the walls.

          Hope this helps!

            Tige Junkie,

Could you please post a couple pics of the channel angles? Also, how did you attach them to the boat -sheet metal screws, bolts, etc?

            Thanks.

Here are mine. I have since added beefy simple L on the top of each. I can take a picture later if needed.

I replaced the black plastic L in the 2nd picture with the large aluminum L.

What did you use to attach the L to the boat? It looks like sheet metal screws on the bottom L and bolts/nuts on the L running up the sides.

Also, what size of L did you use - i.e. lenght of bottom and side L and what width?

I'd like to purchase the materials tomorrow before leaving for the lake on Friday. Thanks

#10 x 1" SS screws and pre-drill the bracket so you are threading into the floor and not through the aluminum.

                      I used a nut and a bolt.

Thanks - I'm going to take measurements on Friday. Then I'll purchase the materials and complete the project Saturday morning. Once completed, I'll post some pics.

Again, thanks for the excellent advice

                          Duffy,

How were you able to use nuts/bolts on the base angle L? There doesn't appear to be enough room to get under the base of the locker to attach the nut.

Oh sorry I thought you meant the Top L. Not the U channel. I just used some stainless screws from the hardware store.
